How It All Started

No gap in categories - Rome, Italy, ca. 2002

I had already written quite some pages of thoughts (almost two-year worth of pages!) when I stumbled upon a thought that completely changed the way I see -and think- about things.

This is as silly as it can be: a person and a bicycle fall in distinct buckets when looking at organic and inorganic spaces/categories.

The very same objects (a person riding the bicycle) belong to the same bucket when looking for categories with \(velocity > 0\).

This appears to have some kind of connection with even numbers breaking apart and the generation of a novel family of numbers starting from odd numbers.
